BakeOnyx + AI Assistants
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor straight to your bakery and ask anything in plain English. Your assistant reads live answers from your real data — and can only ever read, never change a thing.
What It Does
Four reasons bakers connect their AI assistant to BakeOnyx.
Ask in Plain English
"How many orders are due this weekend?" "What does my chocolate ganache cake cost to make?" "Which ingredients are low?" Your assistant answers from live data.
Reads Your Real Data
Orders, recipes and costing, customers, products, ingredients and stock, suppliers, purchase orders, invoices, quotes, inquiries, deliveries, loyalty, and expenses.
Read-Only, Safe by Design
The connection can only read your data — it can never change, delete, or place anything. Nothing your assistant does can alter your bakery.
You Stay in Control
Access tokens are read-only, last 90 days, are shown once, and can be revoked instantly. See how many calls each client made in the last 30 days.
How It Works
Three steps to connect any MCP-capable assistant.
Open MCP Settings
Go to Settings > MCP Server in your BakeOnyx dashboard (owner-only).
Connect Your Assistant
Paste the MCP server URL into a sign-in client like Claude or ChatGPT and approve the consent screen — or create a 90-day read-only token for tools that take a static key.
Start Asking Questions
Your assistant now answers questions about your real bakery data — instantly and in plain English.
Why Bakers Love It
Answers without dashboards
Skip hunting through reports. Ask your assistant and get the number straight from your live data.
Works with the tools you already use
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code — any MCP-capable assistant can connect. No new app to learn.
Peace of mind built in
Read-only access, expiring tokens, and instant revocation mean you are never one prompt away from a mistake.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an outside AI assistant connect directly to a system and read live data. BakeOnyx runs an MCP server so assistants like Claude and ChatGPT can answer questions about your bakery.
Which AI assistants can I connect?
Any assistant that supports MCP — including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Claude Code. Sign-in clients walk you through a BakeOnyx sign-in and consent screen; token clients use a read-only access key you create.
Can the AI change or delete my data?
No. The connection is strictly read-only. Your assistant can see orders, recipes, costs, stock, and more, but it can never create, edit, delete, or place anything.
How do I keep it secure?
Access tokens are read-only, expire after 90 days, and are shown only once when created. You can revoke any token instantly, which cuts off that client immediately. The settings page also shows usage from the last 30 days.
Which plan is it on?
The MCP server is available on the Growth and Scale plans. Only the bakery owner can manage AI access.
