Ask, don't hunt

Instead of clicking through menus, you can just type what you want. Bake Buddy is available as a command bar on every dashboard page — so wherever you are, help is one keystroke away.

Opening it

Press Cmd + K (Mac) or Ctrl + K (Windows), or
Press / to jump into the box, or
Click the Ask Bake Buddy field.

Then type your question or instruction in plain English and press enter.

What you can ask

Questions get answered instantly. Read-only requests never change anything, so they just run:

Show me tomorrow's orders
What's low on stock?
How much revenue this week?

Actions always ask first. Anything that changes your data — moving an order, adjusting a price, creating a record — is held until you confirm, and anything irreversible asks you to approve it explicitly. Bake Buddy shows you exactly what it's about to do before it does it:

Move Sarah's cake to Friday
Increase chocolate cake price by 5%

Menus never go away

The command bar is a faster way in, not the only way. Every screen and button you already use is still there — so if you'd rather click, click. If Bake Buddy is ever unavailable, you can run your whole bakery from the menus exactly as before.

The command bar is available on all plans.
What Bake Buddy can do for you depends on your role — it only ever offers actions you're allowed to perform.
Every action it takes on your behalf is recorded, so you can always see what was done and why.
