Closed-Loop Automation: AI-Drafted Plans & Purchase Orders

Let the AI draft your daily production plan and low-stock purchase orders for you to approve. Everything stays a draft until you say yes — nothing is ordered or committed on its own.

What this does

Closed-loop automation lets the AI do the tedious prep work and hand you a ready-made draft — you just review and approve. There are two loops, and the golden rule for both is the same: the AI drafts, you decide. Nothing is ever committed until you say yes.

Loop 1 — Your production plan, drafted overnight

Instead of starting each morning with a blank page, the AI builds tomorrow's production schedule for you as a draft — combining today's orders, your standing/par levels, and your demand forecast. It shows up right in your morning briefing:

🗓 Today's production plan is drafted — 40 items ready to review & approve.

Tap through, sanity-check it, and approve. That's it. If you've already approved or started a plan for the day, the AI leaves it alone — it will never overwrite your work.

Available on the Growth plan and above. You'll need your morning briefing turned on for the drafted plan to appear.

Loop 2 — Purchase orders, drafted from the cheapest supplier

When an ingredient drops below its reorder point, the AI drafts a purchase order for you — and it does the shopping-around you never have time for:

  • Cheapest capable supplier. It compares each supplier's price per unit, accounting for different pack sizes (a 25 kg bag vs a 1 kg bag are compared fairly), and picks the best. On a tie, it prefers the supplier with the shorter lead time.
  • Sensible quantities. It works out how much to order to get you comfortably back above your reorder point, rounded up to whole packs.
  • Grouped & tidy. Lines are grouped into one draft PO per supplier, and it flags any order that falls below a supplier's minimum.
  • No duplicates. Ingredients already sitting on an open draft PO are skipped.

You review each draft and send it when you're happy — nothing is ordered automatically.

Auto-drafted purchase orders require the Scale plan, and work best when your ingredients have suppliers and purchase units priced.

How to turn it on

Everything is off by default. To opt in:

  1. Go to Settings → Agent Settings → Closed-Loop Automation.
  2. Flip Auto-draft today's production plan on for Loop 1.
  3. Flip Auto-draft purchase orders from low stock on for Loop 2, and set how much to reorder (a multiple of your reorder point — the default is 2×).
  4. Use Preview drafts now to see exactly what would be created — with no writes — before you commit to turning it on.

What it costs you

Nothing extra to worry about. The drafted production plan reuses the forecast and scheduler you already have. Purchase-order drafting is pure arithmetic — there's no AI cost to it at all.

The promise

Every one of these is a draft. A production plan isn't active until you approve it. A purchase order isn't sent until you review and send it. You stay in control of every decision — the AI just removes the busywork and the price-comparison legwork.
