What Is the AI Shopping Assistant?
The AI Shopping Assistant is a floating chat bubble that appears on your online store. Customers can click it to ask questions about your products in plain language — no forms, no searching, just a conversation.
The assistant knows your entire product catalog: names, descriptions, allergens, dietary flags, pricing (if shown), variants, and lead times. It can recommend up to 3 products per response with clickable cards that link directly to the product page.
What Customers Can Ask
- "Do you have any gluten-free cakes?" — filters by dietary flags
- "What allergens are in the chocolate fudge?" — reads from your product allergen data
- "Can I get a cake for this Saturday?" — checks lead times
- "What do you recommend for a birthday party of 20?" — suggests appropriate products
How to Enable
- Go to Dashboard → Storefront Settings
- Turn on "AI Shopping Assistant"
- Optionally customize the greeting message (what the assistant says when the chat opens)
- Choose a personality: friendly, professional, or playful
- Save — the chat widget appears on your store immediately
Session Limits
- 20 messages per customer session (resets after 24 hours)
- Included in your plan's AI usage quota
- If your monthly AI quota is reached, the widget shows "temporarily unavailable" with your contact info
