How to Change Your Currency
Change your currency in Settings → General — pick from 150+ currencies and every price, invoice, and report switches instantly. Note: it changes display only and does not convert existing amounts.
How to Change Your Currency
Change your currency in Settings → General: pick your currency from the list (150+ supported, including EUR, GBP, AED, and MAD) and save. Every price, quote, invoice, receipt, and report immediately switches to the new symbol and formatting. One important caveat: changing your currency updates the display only — it does not convert your existing numbers, so a price of 25 stays 25 and simply shows with the new symbol. Only an owner or manager can change it.
Steps
- Go to Settings → General.
- Find the Currency selector in the form.
- Pick your currency from the list of 150+. Your choice sets both the currency and the symbol shown on all prices.
- Click Save. Prices across the dashboard, storefront, invoices, and reports switch to the new symbol straight away.
What changes — and what doesn't
- Changes: the symbol and formatting everywhere money appears — dashboard, online store, quotes, invoices, receipts, emails, PDFs, and reports. Decimal places follow the currency, so a zero-decimal currency like the Japanese Yen shows whole numbers.
- Doesn't change: your underlying amounts. BakeOnyx does not run a foreign-exchange conversion — if a cake was 25 in your old currency, it shows as 25 in the new one, just with a different symbol.
If you're genuinely moving markets
Because amounts aren't converted, switching currency for a real relocation (not just fixing the symbol) means your prices are now stated in the new currency at the old numbers. Review and re-set your product prices and recipe/ingredient costs so they make sense in the new market — the currency switch handles the symbol, not the pricing.
Frequently asked questions
Does changing currency convert my existing prices?
No. It changes the symbol and formatting only — your stored numbers stay exactly as they were. Re-price manually if you've actually changed markets.
My currency isn't showing — can I still use it?
The list covers 150+ ISO currencies, so most are already there. Pick the closest match; the symbol and decimal places come from that selection.
Why can't I change the currency?
Currency is a business-profile setting, so only the owner or a manager can change it. Staff accounts don't have access to business settings.
Will customers see the new currency on the storefront and invoices?
Yes. Once you save, the new symbol appears everywhere customers see prices — your online store, quotes, invoices, and receipts.
