Customizing Your Public Inquiry Form
Choose which fields customers see on your public inquiry form, mark them required, optional or staff-only, offer "Not sure" options, and preview before you publish.
Customizing Your Public Inquiry Form
By default, your public inquiry form shows every field — including the detailed order-building questions like cake size, shape, filling and tiers. Many customers do not know those details yet; they just want to start a conversation. This page lets you decide exactly what customers see, so you can keep a simple public form while your staff still capture the full details internally.
Where: Settings → Inquiry Form Settings. This controls both your embeddable inquiry form and your public inquiry page.
Public form fields
Under Public Form Fields, every field has three settings:
- Required — the customer must fill it in.
- Optional — the customer may fill it in.
- Staff only — hidden from customers. You still complete it yourself on the internal form after speaking with the customer.
Name, email and event date are always required — the form cannot be submitted without them. You can now also make the phone number required.
Hide the detailed product questions
The product-specific questions (size, shape, filling, covering, tiers, cookie type, coating, and so on) are grouped per product type. Set the ones you do not want customers to answer to Staff only to keep the form short. Turn on "I already know my details" to tuck the remaining detail questions behind an optional expander, so only customers who know their details open them.
"Not sure — help me decide"
For servings, quantity, size and budget you can offer a "Not sure — help me decide" choice. When a customer picks it, the field is cleared and a short note is added to their request, so you know to advise them on that point.
Preview before publishing
Click Preview Changes to see exactly how your public form will look with your edits. Your customers keep seeing the currently published version until you click Publish Changes. Nothing you preview is visible to customers until you publish.
Note: the preview is a quick preview of your current edits, not an autosaved draft. If you leave the page without publishing, reopen the settings to continue and preview again.
