Enhanced Morning Briefing
Which signals the enhanced briefing adds to your daily Bake Buddy summary, how to turn individual signals on/off, and how fallback works when the AI is unavailable.
What It Adds
Your existing morning briefing on the dashboard already shows today's orders, revenue, stock alerts, and urgent items. The enhanced briefing adds a new AI-narrated "Growth Coach" section below those numbers with 2-4 highlights chosen from five signal categories:
- Revenue — today vs same-day-last-week, weekly trend direction
- Customers — at-risk count, stale VIPs who haven't ordered in 21+ days
- Pricing — products currently flagged below your margin target
- Seasonal — upcoming events within 30 days (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc.)
- Products — items trending month-over-month
Example highlights
Revenue is down 18%. Today's $340 vs last Tuesday's $414 — worth a quick look at whether any regulars missed their usual order.
3 at-risk VIPs. Sarah, James, and Priya haven't ordered in 30+ days. Consider a personal follow-up.
Valentine's Day in 18 days. Start promoting romantic dessert boxes and custom cakes now — lead time on pre-orders is a week.
Where You See It
On the main dashboard, below the basic numbers in your morning briefing card. The section has an indigo "Growth Coach" header so it's visually distinct from the built-in signals.
Opt In Per Signal
Each of the five signal categories has its own toggle in Growth Coach settings. Turn off categories you don't want noise from — e.g. if you don't care about seasonal posts, turn off seasonal and the briefing will skip those highlights.
Availability
Growth+ only. Essentials tier sees the basic briefing (same as always). No AI calls fire for Essentials bakeries.
AI Cost
About $0.002 per briefing (Haiku model). Runs once per daily briefing load.
Fallback When AI Fails
The basic briefing always renders. If Haiku times out, is rate-limited, or returns invalid JSON, the Growth Coach section simply doesn't appear — no error, no missing block, just the regular briefing. You wouldn't notice unless you were expecting it.
Privacy
Only aggregate numbers and top-5 VIP names (first name + last name) are sent to the AI — the same data that already appears visibly on your dashboard. No full customer list, no ingredient costs, no order line items.
