AI Growth Coach — Overview

The four components of Growth Coach, how they relate to Bake Buddy, and which ones you can toggle individually.

What Growth Coach Is (and What It Isn't)

AI Growth Coach is not a separate assistant. It's a capability module that plugs into the existing Bake Buddy interface — same chat, same AI brain, same usage quota. You won't see two chatbots. You'll see Bake Buddy doing more.

Think of Bake Buddy as the conversational interface and Growth Coach as a new set of proactive data surfaces on top of it: a daily briefing that now tells you what to focus on, a weekly AI-generated plan with 3-5 specific actions, per-product margin health, and a milestone path from setup to scaling.

The Four Components

  1. Enhanced morning briefing — extends your existing daily briefing with AI-narrated highlights from five signal categories: revenue trends, at-risk customers, pricing flags, seasonal opportunities, and trending products.
  2. Weekly growth plan — every Monday (or your chosen day) at your local 7am, Growth Coach generates 3 actions (Growth tier) or 5 (Scale), each referencing your actual numbers. Mark each as done / later / skipped; the AI learns.
  3. Pricing Coach — per-product margin analysis with green / yellow / red health indicators. One-click "Apply" to update prices safely.
  4. Growth Path milestones — 5 stages from Setup Complete to Scaling. Each milestone unlocks features as your bakery grows.

Tiers

  • Essentials: no Growth Coach surfaces.
  • Growth: Haiku-powered 3-action weekly plan, full Pricing Coach, basic enhanced briefing, all milestones. ~$0.16/month AI cost.
  • Scale: Sonnet-powered 5-action weekly plan with deeper reasoning, full briefing signals, all of the above plus the Scale-tier Pricing Optimizer (a separate, deeper analytics feature — Growth Coach is the daily check; Pricing Optimizer is the deep-analysis workbench).

Where You'll Find It

Kill Switch

The master "Enable Growth Coach" toggle in settings disables all four components instantly. Bake Buddy chat itself keeps working — only the added Growth Coach surfaces turn off. Individual components can also be toggled independently if you want, say, the weekly plan but not the enhanced briefing.

How It Relates to Post-Order Growth Emails (Spec 039)

Growth Coach works with the Spec 039 post-order features:

  • Spec 039 detects at-risk customers and sends the margin alert notifications — Growth Coach surfaces the same data in your morning briefing and weekly plan so you see it in context.
  • Spec 039's margin alert banner on the dashboard links to Growth Coach's Pricing Coach page where you can actually act on the flagged products.
  • Turn either feature off independently. They complement each other but are not coupled.

Privacy & Data

Growth Coach sends the same aggregate data that already appears on your dashboard to the AI model: revenue totals, order counts, top-5 VIP names, at-risk count, margin flags, upcoming seasonal events. No full customer list, no ingredient costs, no unrelated bakery data. Every call is tenant-isolated — one bakery's data never shows up in another bakery's plan.
