Post-Order Growth Emails — Overview
Everything you can turn on, off, or customise for the automatic emails BakeOnyx sends on your behalf.
What This Page Controls
Your Growth Emails settings at Settings → Post-Order Growth Emails are the one place to see and control every automatic email BakeOnyx sends on your behalf:
- Post-order email chain (customer-facing) — thank-you, review request, Google invite, low-rating alert
- Weekly Business Digest (owner-facing) — Monday morning summary of your business
- Pricing margin alerts (owner-facing, Growth+) — when products drop below your target margin
- At-risk customer alerts (owner-facing, Growth+) — churn-risk dashboard card and optional win-back emails
- Top customer thresholds — the rules that define who counts as a top customer
Master Toggles
Every feature has a master on/off switch at the top of its section:
- Post-order email chain: default off — you opt in after reviewing the content. When off, no post-order emails fire.
- Weekly Business Digest: default on — low-risk inbound email to you, easy to turn off.
- Margin alert emails: default on (Growth+) — can be silenced while keeping the dashboard banner and digest section active.
- At-risk customer alerts: default on (Growth+) — turning off hides the dashboard card, digest section, and morning briefing badge.
Per-Step Controls (Post-Order Chain)
The post-order chain has 4 independent switches so you can keep some steps on while turning off others:
- Day 0 — Thank-you email (customer)
- Day 3 — Review request email (customer)
- Day 7 — 5-star Google review invite (customer — only if they gave 5 stars and you've set a Google Place ID)
- Day 7 — Low-rating alert (to you — only if they gave ≤3 stars)
Each step has a Preview button — click it to get a rendered sample in your owner email before you turn the step on.
Customising Email Content
The 3 customer-facing post-order emails can be customised via Settings → Email Templates. Edit the subject and body, use merge fields like {{customerName}} and {{bakeryName}}. If no custom template exists, BakeOnyx uses friendly built-in defaults.
Customer Opt-Out
Every customer-facing email includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it flips that customer's growth email preference off — they'll still receive order confirmations and invoices (transactional), just not these follow-ups. You can also set this manually on any customer's detail page.
Per-Order Skip
On an individual order's detail page, the "Skip post-order emails" switch cancels the chain for just that one order without affecting other orders for the same customer. Useful for gift orders or orders where you've already followed up personally.
Tier Availability
- All tiers: thank-you, review request, 5-star Google invite, low-rating alert, weekly digest, top customer thresholds
- Growth+ only: pricing margin alerts, at-risk customer dashboard card, template win-back emails, margin alerts in digest
- Scale only: AI-personalised win-back emails (Growth falls back to template)

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I control which automated emails BakeOnyx sends?▾
BakeOnyx offers a central control panel at Settings → Post-Order Growth Emails. Here, you can enable or disable the entire post-order email chain, the weekly business digest, pricing margin alerts, and at-risk customer alerts. Each feature has a master on/off switch, with specific options for individual steps within the post-order chain.
Can I customize the content of the post-order emails?▾
Yes, the content for the three customer-facing post-order emails (thank-you, review request, and Google review invite) can be customized. Navigate to Settings → Email Templates to edit the subject and body. You can use merge fields like {{customerName}} and {{bakeryName}}. If no custom template is set, BakeOnyx uses default messages.
What happens if a customer doesn't want to receive these emails?▾

They will still receive essential transactional emails like order confirmations and invoices. You can also manually adjust a customer's email preferences on their detail page.
Can I skip post-order emails for a specific order?▾
Yes, BakeOnyx allows you to skip post-order emails on a per-order basis. On the individual order's detail page, there is a 'Skip post-order emails' switch. This is useful for gift orders or situations where you've already communicated with the customer personally, ensuring they don't receive duplicate follow-ups.
Which email features are included in the Growth+ tier?▾
The BakeOnyx Growth+ tier includes additional features beyond the standard offerings. These are pricing margin alerts, an at-risk customer dashboard card, template win-back emails, and margin alerts integrated into the weekly digest.
