Product Recalls
Recall a contaminated ingredient lot in seconds — automatically scope every affected batch, order, and customer, notify them, and generate an audit report.
Product Recalls
If a supplier flags a contaminated batch, you need to know exactly which products and customers are affected — fast. The recall workflow uses your lot traceability data to scope and act on a recall in seconds.
Availability: Scale plan, owner or manager. Lot tracking must be enabled, with at least one tracked lot used in production.
Starting a recall
- Go to Inventory → Lot Tracking and open the affected lot.
- Click Initiate recall.
- Enter a reason and a severity (low, medium, high, or critical).
- BakeOnyx flags the lot and every batch made from it as recalled, and computes the affected scope — how many batches, orders, and customers are involved.
A lot can have only one active recall at a time.
Reviewing the scope
The recall detail page shows the affected counts and lists every affected order and customer with their contact details. You can also reach it any time from Inventory → Recalls.
Notifying customers
Click Notify affected customers to email everyone affected a safety notice that includes the recall reference, the ingredient, the reason, and the severity. Recall notices are safety-critical, so they always send.
Status workflow
A recall moves through initiated → investigating → notifying → resolved, and can be cancelled at any point. Resolving a recall records who closed it and when. Once resolved or cancelled, a recall is locked.
Audit report
Download a PDF audit report from the recall page for inspectors or your own records. It captures the lot and supplier details, the affected production batches, the affected orders and customers, the notification timestamps, and the resolution notes.
